For the second installment of EIGHTY Live at &Co., our monthly fireside chat series, we're taking a page right out of the issue and bringing in interior designer Elaine Santos, who we profiled in the latest issue of EIGHTY Magazine. Elaine's passion for discovery frequently takes her to every corner of the globe, in search of things big and small that she hopes will impress her residential and commercial clients.

We will talk about the interior design process from client consultation & concept presentations to scouting, procurement (of furniture, decorative lighting, textiles, and more), and design implementation, and how it's taken her to different parts of the world.

And because we're on The Escape Issue, we'll find out Elaine's recommendations on what the best cities are to visit for design and creative inspiration.

About Elaine Santos
Elaine Santos directs BarlisWedlick’s interior design practice, an integral part of its offerings since the firm’s inception. Santos has been with the firm since 2009; in this short time her designs have been nominated for Interior Design magazine’s Best of Year Award and landed on the cover of the Home Section of the New York Times. Santos views every project as an opportunity to connect person to place, to animate a space with the context provided by the goals and aspirations of her clients. She starts each project by collecting images, samples, and illustrations to establish a creative direction; once set, she carefully manages shopping trips, procurement and, finally, installation, to ensure that her client’s vision is realized. Prior to joining BarlisWedlick’s team, Santos was lead designer at two prestigious Manhattan interior design firms where she honed her ability to establish long-lasting relationships with her clients. She holds a degree in Interior Design from Parsons the New School for Design. Born to Portuguese immigrants and raised in Nutley, NJ, Santos now lives in the Bergen Hill neighborhood of Jersey City.
